Bicycle for tall person?
I am in the process of buying a cruiser style bike. I want to buy a good quality bike, but not sure what size to get. I stand at 6 feet 3 inches and weigh about 230 pounds. Worksmancycles.com have industrial heavy duty bikes. I may order one. The one I want is a cruiser style with 20" frame. Would that be good enough for me? It also comes with extended handlbars stem and seat post.
If I can extend the seat post higher, would'nt 20" be good enough?
I am 6'1" tall.
Two of my bicycles were/are 24.5" and 25" respectfully. I am currently riding a 60 cm road bike and a 21" mountain bike. The 21" mountain bike frame is barely big enough for my height. At one point I had a 23" frame road bike. Very uncomfortable due to the extra low handlebars. This is the problem with small frames. While extra long sky high seat posts are available, handlebars will be too low.
For a road bike I would recommend a 62 cm frame.
Good Luck
PS, I have weighed 230 pounds and my road bikes with 700c x 25 tires have held my weight just fine. Also, a multi-speed bike will be much more versatile and comfortable than a single speed.
