Why snowboard is so expensive?
Price of an average snowboard is a half of the price of average bicycle. And set of snowboard equipment - incl. boots and bindings, is almost as the full price of average bicycle.
But bicycle contains hundreds or even thousands of parts, made of different plastics and alloys, many of these must be very durable and precise. Many parts are turning or moving.
Snowboard is still a board. Yes, with many layers, edge, plastic coating, picture... But still just a board. One part and nothing moves. Why it's so expensive?
Theirs a lot more to a snowboard than you might think, Theirs a wide range of different stiffness, different cores from crappy to good. A lot of cores these days are genetically altered wood, Than you got new edge designs like magnetraction the rebirth of reverse cambers, You have semi directional flexes "which is end of the board is a different flex than the other", true twin flexes. Quite a lot of different work and designs go into making a good snowboard, Once you get on a real quality board you realize it's worth every penny because of all the tech in it.
